Is anyone on your list in it?
Keep a private list of actors, directors and writers you would rather not watch or pay for, for whatever reason. Look up any film or series and see straight away whether someone on your list worked on it. Free, no account, and your list stays on your device.
Why this exists
People keep lists of actors and filmmakers they boycott, and the lists grow. Then a film starts, someone from the list turns up, and the evening becomes a decision about whether to keep watching.
Film sites tell you who is in one film. They do not tell you whether anyone from your own list is, or which of their titles to skip. This page does both, and it never learns who is on your list.
Where the data comes from
Cast and crew come from Wikidata, which anyone can read and improve, under a public domain licence. Billing order follows Wikidata's cast lists, so treat it as a good hint rather than the poster.
Questions
- Is my list sent anywhere?
- No. It is saved in this browser only. When you check a title, the page fetches that title's cast and crew and compares them with your list on your device. Only for the list of titles to skip does the page ask for each person's credits, by their Wikidata number; our server fetches them and keeps no record of who asked.
- What does "only big parts" mean?
- Some people only want to know when someone has a leading part. With this setting, a person is flagged when they are among the first five billed cast members, or directed, wrote, created or presented the title. Smaller parts are still listed, marked as small.
- Why is someone missing from a cast?
- Cast and crew come from Wikidata, the free knowledge base behind Wikipedia. It lists the main cast and key crew of most films and series, but small parts, guest appearances and very new releases can be missing. A clear result means nobody on your list is credited there. You can add missing credits on Wikidata yourself.
- Can I share my list?
- Yes. A share link carries the names and settings after the # sign, which browsers never send to a server. Whoever opens it can add the people to their own list. Your private notes are not included.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. No account, no limit on people or checks, no ads. It is one of the fairtools: small tools with no catch.
